Gilligan under the federal Omnibus Crime Control Act The $105720 grant to be matched with $52161 in state funds is for design and implementation of a program at the Southern Ohio Correctional Fa- rility for corrective treatment of prisoners classified as intractable The program is designed to allow the movement of those prisoners from their current isolation back into the general prison population so they will par-' ticipate in rehabilitative programs Professional consultants from Ohio State and Ohio universities will provide lectures and seminars for 60 institutional personnel at Lucasville in 96 hours of training Other areas receiving grants the amount of money awarded and the purpose of the grant included: Lorain County $39000 matched locally by $13788 to provide probation services to the five municipal courts in the county by hiring four probation workers Akron $25231 matched locally by $8411 to continue a program to provide ex-offenders with job opportunities in an effort to reduce recidivism Wayne County $22500 to be matched locally by $13069 to renovate plumbing ventilating and electrical systems at the county jail and to install new kitchen equipment Richland County $3141 to be matched locally by $1022 to purchase a new videotape security system for the' county jail Ross County $1237 to be matched locally by $412 for the purchase of a dictating system few the common pleas court Knox Holmes and Coshocton counties $30553 to be matched locally by $10264 to provide training and counselling to delinquent and pre-delinquent youths Geauga County $14000 matched locally by $6435 to hire and train a full-time assistant prosecuting attorney Rittman $3652 to be matched by $1218 for purchase of an automated system tor quick reproduction of photographs tor criminal investigation Perry sburg $21719 to be matched by $7240 for police communications equipment including a radio three mobile radios four portable radios an antenna tower and control console Licking County $2347 to be matched by $783 to purchase an electronic court recorder for the county's juvenile court Champaign County $6169 to be matched locally by $2173 to build a firearms range for
