Today, I turn 39, and I appreciate every year of experience I've gained. However, like many Ukrainians, I carry a heavy heart. As a child, I attended a kindergarten in Chernihiv during a time of peace. Back then, I couldn’t have imagined what air raids, underground shelters, or war even meant. Unfortunately, today, every child in Chernihiv knows the procedures for air raids better than most adults. In the past month alone, there were 111 air raid alerts in Chernihiv, with an average duration of 1 hour and 4 minutes each. That’s 118 hours, or 5 full days, that children spent in underground shelters. The most critical issue in these shelters is air ventilation.Every time I descend into a children's underground shelter without proper ventilation and spend just 20 minutes breathing the heavy, humid air, I am deeply concerned about how these children endure 118 hours in such conditions each month, and how it impacts their health.Currently, we are raising funds to install a ventilation system in Kindergarten No. 71. This kindergarten, home to 240 children, has been operating without adequate ventilation for over a year and a half. My goal is to ensure these children can breathe fresh air as soon as possible. As the co-founder of the Angels of Freedom Charity Foundation, I have been working closely with an incredible team of volunteers to equip shelters in schools and kindergartens across Chernihiv for the past two years. We have already equipped eight underground shelters, with the ninth currently under renovation, and this kindergarten will be our tenth project. Our goal is to create safe and comfortable environments for children in these challenging times.Last Sunday, our foundation organized a charity run that raised about $2,500 out of the $5,000 needed. The dedication of the teachers, parents, and children, who ran 3 kilometers in support of their kindergarten, was deeply moving. They ran to secure better air for their shelter.Even a small contribution of $5 can bring us closer to our goal. We also warmly welcome corporate donations from businesses that share our commitment to supporting children in need. You can donate easily through:Ukraine via Privat24: https://pb.ua/short?5Z0Y7Kazakhstan via Kaspi.kz: https://lnkd.in/dys7JnzGAny other countries via Donorbox: https://lnkd.in/dczu8ix2Thank you for your support and compassion.

To My Colleagues, Friends and FamilyIf you are in the giving spirit with Thanksgiving this month personally and/or your business, I am excited to share with you a mission & wellness trip later this year celebrating my birthday. I will be co-leading our RegenrusCARES non profit team headed to Rwanda. We will be working with the children & families that have been ravaged by the genocide in 1994. This genocide in the small nation of Rwanda resulted in over 1,000,000 being brutally killed & left thousands of widows and orphans with virtually no means of support. This happened in less than 100 days! Extreme poverty is the ordeal of the day for these 'survivors', who lost spouses, children, parents, siblings, grandparents & their homes. We’ll be serving alongside Hope for Children Ministries nonprofit who are working directly with these children & their families to bring them hope for the future. The Rwandan government does not require that children attend school, & in order for children to attend an overcrowded, government-sponsored school they must have a school uniform, shoes & school supplies. For a majority of their sponsored children, that’s often an unreachable requirement. That’s why they opened Hope for Children International School in October 2021 & have more than 250 children they are educating in their surrounding villages. If this calls to your heart, we are in need of Donations to help pay for the costs of the trip and to help make the greatest impact for the children & families we will be serving in Rwanda. The needs are great & we are focused on several projects while we are in Rwanda listed below. We will be purchasing items in Rwanda to stimulate their economy and bringing supplies that we purchase here in the US along with gently used clothes with us on the flights as shipping is so expensive.Fence (to keep children safe at school)Farming/Gardening/Nutrition Education and Meal PlanningSchool Curriculum (age-appropriate new subject programs, books, supplies)Girl's Dorm Essentials (beds, blankets, storage)Fresh water filter bucket system for familiesSolar Lights for Families (for chores and children doing homework)Mighty Milk/Hope Blend Nutritional Supplement to help eradicate malnutritionCommunity Mural (art therapy & education)If you feel called to be part of our mission/wellness trip with your financial support it will truly help us make the greatest difference, I would also be so grateful. It is very simple, you can donate on line at: regenruscares.org If you know others who you feel would like to help us too, please share with them as we can use all the help we can get. All contributions are tax deductible.I would appreciate prayers & holding positive intentions for safe travels on our journey to Rwanda and for the children and families we will be serving. In gratitude, Cindy#charityfundraising #charitysupport #childreninneed #nonprofitfundraising #rwanda Regenrus RegenrusCARES™ Global Charity #makingadifference

This Thursday (May 30th) I will be embarking on a 4-day, 500-km sponsored cycle ride across the Japan Alps, from Shizuoka City to Nagano City, as part of a group of 44 cyclists, theKnights in White Lycra, who are attempting to raise money to support children who live in orphanages here in Japan. We are doing this in partnership with theMirai no MoriNPO, a volunteer organization that runs programs of summer and winter camps, and engages in several other on-going activities in support of these children. The residents of these care homes include both orphans and children who have been the victims of neglect or abuse. Once they leave institutional care at the age of 18, they face a highly uncertain future, and are at risk of drifting into prostitution or crime.Mirai no Mori stages summer and winter camps for the children that enable them to engage in outdoor physical activities, make new friends and learn some English in a pleasant and natural environment. As well as affording the children some release from their everyday stresses, this experience also gives them confidence, a sense of independence, and the opportunity to cultivate social skills.Crucially, the Mirai no Mori program is not confined to the camps alone. They have also established a Leaders-in-Training program, which is designed to train the older children to proactively support the younger children as they develop.Mirai no Mori also maintains close links with the care-home graduates, as they try to forge new lives as independent young adults. This long-term support significantly increases the chances of more favorable outcomes in their lives.Mirai no Mori is now in its 11th year of operation. Despite being a relatively young organization, however, it has already been accorded full NPO status by the Japanese government and has achieved measurable successes with the programs that it has run thus far.Every yen that the Knights in White Lycra raise this year will be used to fund Mirai no Mori’s activities. Thus, every rider’s fundraising effort will be crucial. This year’s route promises to be the most challenging that the Knights have ever attempted, and we will be climbing over 6300 metres as we work our way through the Japanese Alps. Our discomfort and pain will be insignificant compared to what many care-home children have already endured in their young lives, however. So, please, if you can, dig deep and help us support this truly worthy initiative. If you’d like to sponsor my ride, please visit:https://lnkd.in/gfQc2zmjAll contributions—large or small—gratefully accepted! The URL for the Mirai no Mori’s website is:mirai-no-mori.jp/?lang=enand this describes its activities in detail. You can also watch a video showing a sample of the camp activities in which the children take part here:https://lnkd.in/giuFtjtCPlease give generously and help change the lives of these children for the better.#kiwl

😃Help us get kickstarted! ALL OF FEBRUARY we’re trying to raise AT LEAST 20k to get kick started. You can give there! Big or small, every dollar counts! Here’s what we’re trying to get started with…>> Getting resources to our young adults who have aged out. Food, hygiene products, basic household needs, furniture, gas cards etc…>> Resources to foster families as needed.>> The Crown Project… access hair care/ braids/protective styles for the black community in foster care and young adults who have aged out (52% of our kids in foster care in our kick off county are African American, more needs to be done for people of color who have specific needs). Also providing things like bonnets for kids in foster care.>> Assistance with senior year things that are not covered by DCS... Like being able to get hair, nails and make up done for prom.>> Provide new shoes and clothes as needed. These are just a few things that we’re aiming to get kickstarted this year! Our ultimate goal is to have a building that’s serving as a place of help and community for kids, and young adults who are or have experienced the foster system, and the families and case workers who support them. Then we want to see this happen countrywide. We’ve got big dreams!!!! We can’t wait to see them happen!!! These look like big goals for just us. But we know that as a community, if we all jump in, we can make this happen EASILY! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 https://lnkd.in/ePNy6zAK#nonprofit #nashvillenonprofit #charity #nashvillecharity #fostercare #nashvillefostercare

📢 £3.1m awarded to nine organisations in our first round of Children & Families partnerships 📢 We have seen that many of the problems we are tackling take root outside the school gates. To see system change, we need to support children and families beyond the confines of the school. Our Children & Families portfolio focuses on two main areas for change: the critical early years and vulnerable young people, specifically those in and on the margins of the social care and criminal justice systems. We are building an ecosystem of partners around these issue areas. We build ventures and accelerate and support both new and existing charities. Our focus is on ensuring that the collective impact of the charities in each issue area is greater than the sum of each charity working alone.Today we are delighted to announce the first nine charities joining our Children & Families portfolio. We are providing strategic and operational support as part of this £3.1m in grant funding to maximise each organisation’s impact. Early years : Little Village: Runs a network of baby banks across London which offer essential items and practical help for families living in poverty with babies and children under five.Baby Bank Alliance: Connecting the nation's 250+ baby banks, raising their profile, championing their cause, bringing in funding and creating a national movement for change. Babyzone: Changing the face of support for families to give their children the best start in life. They provide activities that are fun, engaging and, importantly, evidence-based for parents and their little ones. Vulnerable young people: Frontline: Helping to keep the 700,000 children whose families need the support of a social worker, safe and well supported, and to give them every possible chance in life. Pause - Creating Space for Change: Working to improve the lives of women who have had, or are at risk of having, more than one child removed from their care, along with the services and systems that affect them. Royal National Children's SpringBoard Foundation: Working with state boarding and independent schools to widen access to fully-funded bursary places for children who most need access to the opportunities these provide. Lighthouse Pedagogy Trust: Creating children’s homes which offer a safe, nurturing and empowering community in which young people can develop, learn and thrive. SHiFT: Building intensive therapeutic relationships with children and young people to break the destructive cycle of crime.Settle: Breaking the cycle of youth homelessness in the UK, where one third of care leavers become homeless in the first two years immediately after they leave care, by providing support when they move into their first home. We are thrilled to be working with such a diverse and mission-driven group of partners. Together, we will change the system, ensuring children have a safe, positive start in life and go on to fulfil their potential.
