Imagine your shoelaces have those plastic tips at the ends, called aglets. These tips keep your laces from fraying or unraveling. Telomeres do something similar for your chromosomes, which are like long strings of genetic information inside each cell of your body. Just as aglets help keep shoelaces tidy, telomeres protect chromosomes by capping their ends.Every time a cell divides, the telomeres get a bit shorter. Think of it as if every time you tied your shoes, the plastic tip got a tiny bit shorter. After a lot of uses (or many cell divisions), the tip might get so short that it can't do its job well anymore. Similarly, when telomeres get too short, the cell can't divide properly, which is part of why we age.So, telomeres help keep our cells' genetic material safe during cell division, and they're a big reason why cells can only divide a certain number of times Let’s say you have a magic spray for your shoelaces that makes the aglets (plastic tips) longer every time you use it, so your shoelaces can keep getting tied without the tips wearing out quickly. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) works a bit like this magical spray for the telomeres in your cells.Normally, when cells divide and age, their telomeres—the protective caps on the ends of chromosomes, just like our shoelace aglets. Research suggests that when you undergo HBOT, which involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized room or tube, it can somehow encourage the body to lengthen those telomeres again, a bit like making them newer or longer as if they haven’t been used much. This doesn’t make them immortal, but it can give them a bit more life span, allowing cells to divide more times than they otherwise could, which can help in the healing process and potentially slow down aspects of the aging process.Just like the magic spray wouldn’t make your shoelaces last forever but would keep them in good shape longer, HBOT doesn’t stop the aging process but might help our cells maintain their youthful function a bit longer.

It is time to make a change in your dental floss if you are using floss with plastic packaging/petroleum-based floss as they are non-recyclable. This may also mean it is time to say no to free dental floss from dental offices unless it is in a non-plastic container and the floss is biodegradable. The good news is that there are so many options available to make the change at home. There are lots of flosses that come in small metal or glass refillable containers with biodegradable floss that is made from silk or bamboo at your local pharmacy and grocery store.#thesustainableorganizer #sustainable #climatechange #sustainableorganizer #sustainability #sustainableliving #sustainablelifestyle #sustainablehome #sustainablelife #gogreen #savetheplanet #plasticfree #reducereuserecycle

You Probably won't want to watch this at your office. (NSFW)(Has slightly disturbing visuals)But you'll need to watch this ad whenever you get a chance. Because the message is so important.Liquid Death's quirky Recycled Plastic Surgery Center Pokes fun at the 1) Growing Plastic Surgery culture in developed and developing countries.2) And at companies that use Plastic as packaging for their drinks, beverages and products. For Brand Enthusiasts, Liquid Death is a brand worth studying for -> Their insane campaigns and ads, -> Their choice of brand ambassadors,-> Vision for the future,-> Brutal honesty, -> Stellar Designs, that too with a morbid theme, -> Tone and communication style. For me, it's one of the most unique brands out there now.----Modern Society doesn't have a lot of problems compared to what we have faced earlier. But for me, the Plastic Problem is one of the biggest problems that we have on our hands. Very few understand the magnitude of issues caused by this cheap chemical combination on mankind over our lifetimes and it's only going to increase exponentially.Recycling Plastic today is a myth and only seen in marketing efforts. Efforts should be made for the replacement and elimination of Plastic from our EcoSystem. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant or has vested interests.#branding #marketing #positioning #LiquidDeath#honesty #plastic #pollution #environment

Are you looking for an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional nylon or plastic dental floss? Switch to Woobamboo's natural silk, biodegradable floss so that it will not take 80 years to decompose your floss usage. Plus, our floss is in 100% ZERO WASTE packaging! ❤️🌍 Here's why: MILES AND MILES of plastic string (dental floss) are thrown away each day. 🚯 The most significant environmental impact of dental floss is that it is non-biodegradable. Most dental flosses are made from nylon which is a synthetic polyamide. Nylon is non-recyclable and remains on the Earth for your lifetime, literally choking the landfills.Buy online at 🌐 https://lnkd.in/gpmUQkt5#dentalfloss #naturalproducts #maketheswitch #Biodegradable

This article should inspire us to stop buying and drinking water from plastic bottles. Taking one small small step to reduce waste can make a big difference on our beautiful planet. Every day on my morning beach walk, I bring a bag to collect garbage. Some of our beaches actually provide them! It makes me so sad to see all the water bottles, coffee cups, lids, bottle caps, straws, helium balloons, string, fishing line, fishing lures, and other "miscellaneous" items from the beach. What can we do to REDUCE Plastic Usage?*Avoid single-use plastics like drinking straws.*Remember to bring a cloth bag when shopping or on your outdoor walks!*Recycle chewing gum, which is also made of plastic!*Purchase bulk food over packaged products.*Purchase steel containers and reusable, eco-friendly water bottle.*We need to recycle any plastic bottles you use, and if you come across discarded bottles, please pick them up and recycle them as well.*Invest and install a tap filter there are so many great ones on the market.https://lnkd.in/ex9wkz8m

Maintaining and storing your laboratory plasticware is as essential as the experiments themselves. When it comes to plasticware, caring for it properly can make a world of difference. Here's some advice on maintaining these essential tools:1️⃣ Choose the Right Cleaner: Be gentle! Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners and soft materials to clean your plasticware. Scratches can compromise their integrity.2️⃣ Mind the Temperature: Extreme heat or cold can affect plasticware. Store it under the right temperature conditions to ensure its durability.3️⃣ Chemical Compatibility: Not all plastics are equal. Check the compatibility of your plasticware with the chemicals you're using to avoid any undesirable reactions.4️⃣ Protect from Sunlight/UV: Just like sunscreen shields your skin, keep your plasticware away from direct sunlight or UV exposure, which can lead to degradation. But some plasticware to be expose to uv for sterilization before use.5️⃣ Organized Storage: Neatness matters! Properly organize and label your plasticware for easy access and safekeeping.Remember, well-maintained plasticware ensures reliable lab results.
