Unsurprisingly, our nursery's staff called in sick today as well, and they don't have any agency staff stand by

Monday 15 July 2024 - Bank Holiday in Jersey (visit of the Duke of Normandy)
BA632 ATH
BA696 VIE
That is all cancelled at the moment, but there has been some overnight problems with fuel supply at LHR. The rest of LHR is now ok, but there is some sort of intermittent problem affecting T5. 349 departures out of 687. There are a lot of restrictions on flying for ATC related reasons, affecting both inbound and outbound flights. Just somewhat overloaded given the total number of flights today.
Landing RWY: 09L
Airborne holding (mins): 4 peak
Departure RWY: 09R
TSAT delay average (mins): 0
Heathrow: EGLLTC regulation 45/60 0540-0900z, 41/60 0900-1800z due ATC Capacity.
Network: EHAM (capacity), German regulations due Special Event (Euros), Brest and Marseille enroute (Capacity), UK Sector 10 due capacity.
Weather: Easterlies but a possible end change to Westerlies towards end of operational day. Low risk CBs from c0900z, High risk from mid afternoon - high risk of STAM being applied to manage.

My friend is due on the BA138 Mumbai-LHR, which is the return of the BA139 LHR-BOM that was due to leave Heathrow this morning at 09.50am. It seems like the BA139 is canx, as is the return BA138 later tonight.
Any ideas on it, noting it also didn't appear on the list?
Thanks!

Those flights were cancelled on 4 July as part of a rolling reduction of flights to India from now until October. Other cities get reductions in September (HYD, BLR, MAA) The guidance says that passengers on these flights were supposed to be rebooked either automatically or via their travel agents as thus:
Rebook onto British Airways (BA) or Qatar Airways (QR), Lufthansa (LH), or Swiss (LX) from any UK airport to BOM and BOM to any UK airport. Rebook into lowest available in same cabin, or lower cabin.
Either way it should not be a surprise today, but it isn't in my list due to the fact that the cancellation happened 10 days ago.

Got it, thank you. She only booked this flight on 4th July itself, so maybe she missed the cancellation come through. In any case, it seems like it's totally claimable under 261. Thanks!

PEG (Perugia) only has a few flights a week, and this is the second recent cancellation.
HAL has flagged a fuel supply issue, which can be a serious issue if confirmed. I'm watching for any developments. (EDIT: something is up, it went off to a conference call with the main airlines.....)
The PM ATC said that thunderstorms are causing problems over Austria at the moment.
All the above are FCRY.

Gla-lhr. Had g-euyp assigned to it originally.
In the last 10 minutes about 10 flights have been cancelled as WEAN (so suggesting HADACAB may be at play). I can see that ATC is overloaded and the fuel issue mentioned earlier, so I'm not sure it should be WEAN or rather ARPN. I will list them all out in a bit, just waiting to see if there are more. I've also just seen a new Regulation come in relating the CB activity close to LHR.

Currently sat on BA1309, captain has announced well sit on the tarmac for a while until the ATC delay is resolved. Should be around 1405. Allegedly. Thankfully my connecting flight is also delayed.

Just had BA1418 cancelled - On hold now as need to get back this evening and no other options on the app. Can see a few options on SkyScanner but not sure if these are also cancelled. Any advice appreciated before I spend 100s on Easyjet

I was on the BA1389 MAN-LHR yesterday morning that was cancelled. BA helpfully automatically re-booked me for Tuesday for the full onward journey (MAN-LHR-BNA) which simply didn't work for me.
Took ages to get through on the phone and some how I'd lost the main leg (LHR-BNA) so I couldn't just get the train / drive to LHR which was hugely frustrating as I had plenty of time. Agent was helpful but couldn't find me ANY other routing options before Tuesday, either on BA or other airlines, which I found really hard to believe?! Whilst on the phone I found a VS option showing availability and he did manage to get me on that, but wasn't impressed with BA's handling of it.

Get on the telephone or to an airport desk if you are there already and ask about space to EDI and then EDI-BHD.
Then - and this is critical, ask if they will book STN-BFS - they won't - but ask them nicely to put it on the PNR.
Then book easyJet's 22:15 flight.
Updated: there are a number of options out of BHX, so get to Euston by HEX and tube, Single to Birmingham International, and book the 22:00 hrs easyJet from BHX to BFS. There is an 18:40 service with Lingus to BHD but it departs at 18:40 so it depends how quick you can get to Euston. Stansted is easier on Elizabeth Line but you MUST get the right rail ticket to STN since they will ping you otherwise.
